New single ‘Secrets Of The Dead’ clearly embodies that statement. For their fifth album, chimaira have come full circle, returning to the headspace that brought them together in the first place.

2009 is packed with a relentless touring campaign beginning with a slot supporting Disturbed this spring, followed by trips to Japan, Australia and New Zealand, Russia and Dubai. With a decade of servicin to the metal masses behind them, Chimaira are embracing their future with an unwavering enthusiasm.

I believe this track is a great introduction to the new album, The Infection. A disturbing and satisfying tone is set on this track and sucks you in to hear the full length of the single. The album can be heard in full on the bands MySpace so you can try before you buy.
This album is pure, brutal, metal! The Infection also features instrumental track, The Heart Of It All, after the success of Implements Of Destruction from 2004′s The Impossibility Of Reason, though this is not on the MySpace, so you’ll have to buy the album! ★★★✩✩

As a full on metal band, Chimaira aren’t really my cup of tea. ‘Secrets of the Dead’ comes across as a healthy introduction to their latest album and I’m sure it will be embraced by both hardcore Chimaira fans and metalheads alike.
