About 10 days ago I read on Blabbermouth that the split belgian metal band Channel Zero did a reunion gig, but it sold out under 20 minutes.

A bit dissapointed I told myself to keep an eye on the extra promised gigs. Today, tho by the time I realised new tickets were for sale… they were sold out again.

This made me think how much underestimated the cult status of this band really is, the band called it an end in ’97, and 12 years later it organizes 3 gigs for a total of 7500 ish places. Which in total sold out under 2 hours.

This isn’t AC/DC,  you wouldn’t expect a band that split so long ago, and who’s fame was almost exclusively within the borders of Belgium, would sell in such tempo. This band is as popular as ever, maybe even more than back before their end. It’s our belgian metal cult phenomenon!.

I hope on more dates for this band, but maybe it’s better to keep it’s cult fame?

sigh…

Tomorrow I’m sure it will be the hottest topic on Graspop, and I’ll learn more about the true fame of Channel Zero.
